Renowned trumpeter and composer Yazz Ahmed performs in the Grand Junction as part of EFG London Jazz Festival 2024

Yazz has garnered global acclaim with her own distinct brand of psychedelic-Arabic-jazz. Her career has included collaborations with Radiohead and Transglobal Underground, and commissions for Adult Swim and Blue Note.

She has received rave reviews for her albums La Saboteuse (2017) and Polyhymnia (2019), with Downbeat Magazine naming her an artist set to shape the future of jazz over the next decade. In 2020, Yazz won two Jazz FM awardsJazz Act of the Year and Jazz Album of the Year – as well as the Ivor Novello Award for Innovation in Composition.

The EFG London Jazz Festival is the capital’s biggest pan-city music festival, taking place annually in November, and long acclaimed for showcasing a heady mix of talent from around the globe. Widely acknowledged for delivering world-class artists and emerging stars, the Festival continues to take jazz to a massive audience, in one of UK’s landmark music events. The festival is produced by Serious, one of the UK’s leading producers and curators of live jazz, international and new music.
