Music Concerts

Grand Junction is available for hire as a classical or contemporary music performance venue – for classical concerts, Christmas concerts, choral and even opera –  as a rehearsal space and for recordings. The church is Grade I* listed and is renowned for its superb acoustics for small sized orchestras and choral programmes.

Grand Junction is the home of St Mary Magdalene Music Society. The Music Society provides the forces for our annual All Souls’ Day Requiem and the annual Durufle Memorial Recital. Maurice Durufle conducted the British premiere of his “Cum Jubilo” Mass here (with Madame Durufle at the organ) in 1968. The organ has also been played by Jean Langlais, Sir Nicholas Jackson and other major composers for organ. The organ is a John Compton from 1933, and it is possible for it to be available for concerts.

The church of St Mary Magdalene hosts Christmas Carol Concerts for local schools and charities at reduced rates.

The Nave

The Nave offers staging and seating for up to 350 guests. All seats have excellent sightline to the stage. Staging is flexible and can be moved according to your requirements.

Please contact us for a venue and tech spec, and rates card.

The Undercroft

Alternatively book the Undercroft in the atmospheric crypt of St Mary Magdalene Church, perfect for small concerts and acoustic performances.

The Undercroft offers seating for up to 110 guests. The space has restricted sightlines due to the pillars but with creative staging and lighting is transformed in one of the most unique performance spaces in London. The Undercroft is the home of our Bar open during concerts and performances.

The church is a Grade 1 listed historic landmark, a working church and a centre for the local community. As such we have an 11pm performance curfew. Doors can open from 6pm, start times to be agreed with hire.
