Young People's and Families Coordinator
Part time, 12 hours per week. This is a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension.
Usual Hours: Mondays 12.30-19.30 and Tuesdays 13.15-18.15.
We may ask for some flexibility with hours and days (including some weekends) when different programmes are running, but this can be discussed and agreed in advance.
£28,000 pro rata (equivalent to salary: £9,600) based at Grand Junction, St Mary Magdalene’s, W2
About the Role
Grand Junction is seeking a part-time Young People and Families Coordinator to be part of the team delivering the growing programme for young people, supporting the Young People and Families Manager in all aspects of the programme. This will include workshop delivery of drama-based sessions for children, recruitment within the local community, outreach projects, and programme administration.
We are seeking someone with at least 3 years’ experience in delivering drama-based workshops with children and some experience in coordinating projects including the recruitment and retention of children and young people and supporting with reporting and monitoring, although we are happy to provide training in this aspect of the role.
This is a great position for someone who wants to gain experience in working as part of a vibrant creative team in a community arts venue in Westminster.
Main Tasks:
- Support with administration and coordination of the children and young people’s programme, including recruitment, marketing, data entry, funding reports, outreach, promotion, liaising with parents and carers and other tasks where needed.
- The successful candidate will also be required to deliver a weekly after school drama-based workshop with children and young people and support on our other after school projects.
Essential:
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience in planning and delivering drama-based workshops with children.
- A passion for the arts and working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Excel, and confidence in using online programmes such as Canva and Jotform.
- Committed to creating inclusive arts programmes for the whole community where every child can flourish, and families feel supported.
- Willing to work as part of a creative hard-working team and have a flexible approach to work stepping into different tasks where needed.
- Organised and efficient and able to work to deadlines.
- Be great at working within a team but also able to work independently and be proactive.
- Excellent written and verbal English and an excellent communicator.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children and young people, although further training will be provided.
For this role you will need an enhanced DBS check (or be on the update service) and level-one safeguarding training.
Work location: This role is based at Grand Junction, St Mary Magdalene’s Church, W2 5TF (Closest stations Warwick Ave and Royal Oak). Due to the nature of the role, there will not be any work from home opportunities.
Work days and times: Mondays 12.30-7.30pm and Tuesdays 1.15-6.15pm. Please note that occasionally we may ask you to support on a project on a different day (including some weekends), but this would be discussed and agreed in advance.

This contract runs for 12 months, with a possibility of extension. This role will have a three month probation period.
