Designed in the 1860s, the great Victorian architect G E Street engaged the very best artists and craftsmen of the day in the building of St Mary Magdalene’s Church.

ST MARY MAGDALENE’S ON FILM | THURSDAY 22 OCTOBER, 1 – 2PM 

It is no surprise that the church has since featured in over 100 films, tv shows and music videos. Join us for a brand-new tour which explores why St Mary Magdalene’s has drawn numerous filmmakers to the area, and hear about the tricks that have been employed to transform our fantastic building into the cellars of the Vatican, the Tower of London, a night club, prison cells, and Turkish baths!

THE SAINTS ON THE
CEILING | MONDAY 16 NOVEMBER, 1 – 2PM

One of G E Street’s masters was Daniel Bell, who adorned the church’s ceiling with saints and biblical characters, painted in the most exceptional colours and designs. Explore the figures and their lives, and examine the remarkable restoration of this incredible ceiling.
