13 February, 7.30pm (bar open from 6.30pm)
Join us for an evening of William Feaver discussing THE LIVES OF LUCIAN FREUD: YOUTH 1922-1968, the acclaimed first part of his biography of Lucian Freud.
Freud didn’t want a biography published in his lifetime, but did, for decades, tell his story to friend and confidante, William Feaver. The result is a riveting tale of an unconventional life and fastidious approach to painting, much of it told in Freud’s own words.
For thirty years, Freud painted from various studios in spitting distance of St Mary Magdalene Church, and Paddington as it was can be glimpsed in the background of many paintings, and occasionally studied directly. William Feaver will share stories of Freud’s time in this neighbourhood.
