Kefaya and Elaha Soroor – EFG London Jazz Festival 2025

Sat 15 November, 20:00
£22 + bf

Making their Grand Junction debut as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, the multi-award-winning collective featuring Hazara-Afghan singer Elaha Soroor brings a blend of jazz, electronic, and rock, with the rich textures of Afghan folk music, creating a sound that transcends borders and genres

Praised by The Guardian as “one of the most intriguing new bands of the year,” Kefaya followed the success of their debut album Radio International by collaborating with Hazara folk singer Elaha Soroor on their acclaimed 2019 album Songs of Our Mothers (Bella Union), a bold reframing of women’s songs from Afghanistan, that earned global tours and recognition.

Their collaboration continues, and this special performance will be a glimpse of their highly anticipated forthcoming album.

The evening is presented by Arts Canteen in collaboration with Grand Junction as part of EFG London Jazz Festival 2025
