The Arab British Centre, Arts Canteen and Shubbak Festival invite you to join us for an evening of community, solidarity, and reflection in support of Gaza, Lebanon, and Sudan, raising money for urgent humanitarian aid through the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

A message from the organisers “The past year has been devastating. We mourn the thousands of lives that have been lost as we witness with horror the continued escalations in violence across Palestine, Sudan, Lebanon and the wider Arab region.

Language has become inadequate to express our anguish and our grief, and so we lean on the power of art and community to support and re-energise us as we navigate these dark times. We come together to seek solace and strength in unity.

Join us at Grand Junction for an evening of performance, music, spoken word, food and stalls in solidarity with Palestine, Sudan and Lebanon. Profits raised from ticket sales will be donated to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.”

Before the event there will be a facilitated quiet reflection for those seeking a healing space. Should you wish to take part, please arrive at 7pm and make your way to the crypt.

Artists: Bint Mbareh, Inua Ellams, Rama Alcoutlabi and Mario Christofi, Rihab Azar, Selma Dabbagh, Adib Rostami, Basma, Nabad Troupe, Tania Salmen, Riwa Saab and more to be announced soon.

Hosted by Reem Maghribi.

Stalls: Zaytoun, Saqi Books, Get Your Fil, Chachoulie, Toum and Tahini and more.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)

IFRC is the world’s largest humanitarian network. Our secretariat supports local Red Cross and Red Crescent action in more than 191 countries, bringing together more than 16 million volunteers for the good of humanity.

The IFRC acts before, during and after disasters and health emergencies to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people.

We are an international membership organization that unites 191 Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and supports them through a global secretariat.

We are present in virtually every community on earth. We reach 160 million people every year through long-term services, development programmes and disaster response. And we work to improve global humanitarian standards and persuade leaders to act in the interests of vulnerable people.

Our strength lies in our volunteer network, our unparalleled community-based expertise and our independence and neutrality.

We are committed to saving lives and changing minds. And we are guided by Strategy 2030—our collective plan of action to tackle the major humanitarian and development challenges of this decade.

Through our work we enable healthy and safe communities, reduce vulnerabilities, improve people’s resilience and promote peace around the world.
