Echoes of Us: A Storytelling & Memory-Making Journey

Share your story. Celebrate your roots. Create something lasting

Join our free 10-week programme to connect with and explore your heritage in a creative journey for African and Caribbean adults (18+) in Westbourne, Paddington, and across West London.

Through storytelling, art, and digital media, you’ll explore your heritage, uncover family memories, and co-create a powerful exhibition to be shared online and at Grand Junction.

What you’ll do:

  • Explore oral histories & soundscapes
  • Make zines & memory art
  • Share keepsakes & family stories
  • Map roots & migration journeys
  • Create portraits of identity & belonging

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn digital skills in audio, photography & design and connect, create, and celebrate community. No experience needed – just bring your stories, ideas and creativity!

IN-PERSON: at Grand Junction at St Mary Magdalene’s, London W2 5TF

This workshop is free, but registration is required. You can register here.

Please note that this is a 10-week programme, and by signing up, we expect a commitment to attend all sessions. We understand that sometimes absences might be unavoidable, so there is some flexibility. However, we ask for a good level of attendance to ensure you get the most out of the programme.

This programme is for adults aged 18 and older.

Course Tutor:

Nathaniel Télémaque AKA St.Peso is a North West London-born and raised visual artist, writer and researcher who photographs, films, records and writes about ‘everyday things’ in various urban and natural settings. Bearing witness to mad cities, poetic Caribbean landscapes and maverick livelihoods inspires his audio-visual practices. His lenses focus on the experiences of young Black adults, creative peers and the ordinary moments that make up our day to day lives. He completed his Geography (practice-related) PhD at University College London in 2023 and works as Lecturer in Geography and Social Justice at King’s College London University.
