PARTICIPANT CALL OUT: COMMUNITY THEATRE OPPORTUNITY

Are you interested in storytelling and from an Arab background? Seenaryo looking for adult participants with an Arab/SWANA background living in London to participate in the creation of an original play, which will be performed at Grand Junction in June 2025 as part of Shubbak Festival.

Ibn Battuta’s Travels is a wide-scale theatre production bringing together communities from across the Arab region and its diaspora to tell a theatre epic in 5 episodes, across 5 countries: Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt and the UK.

Participants will rehearse twice a week from the end of March until the performances on 4 and 5 June. You must be able to attend rehearsals at Grand Junction on Saturday afternoons and Thursday evenings during this time period.

نبحث عن مشاركين\ات بالغين\ات من المناطق العربية ومنطقتي جنوب غرب آسيا وشمال أفريقيا يعيشون في لندن للانضمام إلى العرض (“رحلات ابن بطوطة”). سيتدرب المشاركون مرتين في الأسبوع من نهاية شهر آذار حتى موعد العروض يومي ٤ و٥ حزيران. يجب أن تكون متاحًا لحضور التدريبات بعد ظهر السبت ومساء الخميس خلال هذه الفترة

رحلات ابن بطوطة هو إنتاج مسرحي واسع النطاق يجمع مجتمعات من جميع أنحاء المنطقة العربية وشتاتها، ليروي ملحمة مسرحية من ٥ حلقات، عبر ٥ دول: لبنان، الأردن، فلسطين، مصر، والمملكة المتحدة. سيتم ابتكار الحلقة الأولى من المسرحية والتدرّب عليها في لندن، مع عرضين في شهر حزيران ٢٠٢٥ كجزء من مهرجان شبّاك (أكبر مهرجان للثقافة العربية المعاصرة في المملكة المتحدة)
