Violin master Akram Abdulfattah, brings his mesmerising fusion of Middle Eastern, Indian, and Jazz music, to Grand Junction!

Akram is an acclaimed, young Palestinian-American violinist who combines jazz with Middle Eastern and Indian music. He is influenced by Hindu, Turkish, and Persian styles, reflecting the rich legacy and culture of oriental sounds in a modernised fashion, with Western folk and even rock influences.

Akram and his multinational 5 piece group have toured the UK for several years, building an enthusiastic fan base, and are looking forward to returning this summer and making his Grand Junction debut! His latest album Abu Kenda has received rave reviews, include **** in Songlines magazine.

Akram and his multinational 5 piece group have toured the UK for several years, building an enthusiastic fan base, and are looking forward to returning this summer. Previous year’s highlights have been London shows at Rich Mix and PE Jazz club, performing at the Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room, and festival appearances at festivals such as Greenbelt, Knockengorroch and Cambridge Folk. His latest album  “Abu Kenda” was well received, with Songlines magazine’s 4* review among its plaudits. This year, Akram returns to the UK with shows in London, Edinburgh and Liverpool, as well as performing his first show in Sweden in June.

Venue: Grand Junction is a new multi-arts venue and community hub based at St Mary Magdalene Church. Our mission is to create and present an eclectic, collaborative programme of music, arts and performance for young people, families and adults. We also have a café serving delicious food overlooking the canal.
